The Broadway cast of Chicago will welcome back show veterans Bonnie Langford (Roxie Hart), Deidre Goodwin (Velma Kelly), Tom Hewitt (Billy Flynn) and Kecia Lewis-Evans (Matron “Mama” Morton) beginning September 7. The hit revival continues its run at the Ambassador Theatre.
Langford first played Roxie Hart on Broadway earlier this year, after having appeared in the West End production. Her other UK theatrical credits include Sweet Charity, Me and My Girl, Peter Pan, Cats and Guys and Dolls.
Goodwin returns to the role of Velma after a six-year absence. She played Sheila in the 2006 revival of A Chorus Line and has appeared on Broadway in Nine, The Boys from Syracuse, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Rocky Horror Show, Chita Rivera: The Dancer’s Life and Never Gonna Dance. (Goodwin will not perform in Chicago September 17-22.)
Hewitt received a Tony nomination for The Rocky Horror Show and has appeared on Broadway in Dracula, The Boys from Syracuse, The Lion King and The Sisters Rosensweig.
Evans’ Broadway credits include The Drowsy Chaperone, Once on This Island, Ain't Misbehavin’, Big River, The Gospel at Colonus and Dreamgirls. She appeared off-Broadway in Dessa Rose.
Langford, Goodwin, Hewitt and Lewis-Evans join Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.
